Rosemary essential oil has a strong, fresh, penetrating, minty-herbaceous scent. The scent is invigorating and stimulating. It can be beneficial to drip a little rosemary oil on a napkin or scent block that you have nearby when doing things that induce sleep, such as studying for an exam or driving a car.

Essential oil is pure nature in condensed form. The oil is extracted from flowers, bark, wood, shell, leaves or other. There are several ways the oil is extracted. Cold pressing, where juice and oil are mechanically squeezed out, is one way. Distillation is another. Here, hot steam is sent through the plant material, and when the steam condenses, part of the liquid will be oil.
